Chris Daughtry out, I sit here and pout.

My so called "American Idol Pony" this year was Chris Daughtry. Why pony? Ever hear the phrase "Pick your pony?" Last year it was Keith even though he never made it to Hollywood. He sang "Like a virgin" I would have let him through just to see what he would come up with later on the show. Now that would have been something to watch. Anywhosawhatsit, I thought Chris was going to go all the the way. He was the reason I watched the show, he has talent and I know that eventhough he didn't win he will be big someday. He already got an offer from the band "Fuel" to be the new lead singer. I hope he takes it because I like that band, but it makes me wonder what happened to the former lead singer? He quit or pass away? I will have to google that later. I'm sure you can imagine my sadness and shock when I saw that Chris was in the bottom 2, I thought he would be safe and Kathryn McPhee would be the one to flee....no longer singing on her knee....she did not get a vote from me......when she didn't go home I made a little wee.
At least now there are alot of angry people out there standing up for Chris, saying that when they called to vote for Chris the answering service stated that they just voted for someone else. Now theres a website collecting "Signatures" against Chris going home and as soon as I find it I'm going to shamelessly sign it. Up to 23 thousand I hear. By the way, I would pay my cousin Willow a hundred bucks to go on next year and sing for Simon, I think that would be the best singing interview EVER! All in all I think that Chris should have been the next American Idol, I did my part by voting for him 3 times every show. What can ya do?
Lillys rating: A goal so far, a vote too few

Thought-byte on science

Okay my first point is that my husband is in Mississippi. Our house is a non drinking house, but since he is so far away I am drinking in the house. This is a BIG thing, and is totally weird cuz I have never drank in my house before.

I hate Monsanto!!!

A hunter in the polar wastelands went hunting and killed a polar bear. Or so he thought until the DNA evidence came back and said "you killed a hybrid between a polar bear and a grizzly". Damn it! It could have been the start of a new species but someone killed it!!! I am sad.

Thought-byte on TV

My favorite shows are in order: Lost, Grey's Anatomy, House, Numbers, Law and Order SVU, Invasion and I think I will soon add 24 to that list as soon as I catch up on all the other seasons.

They are intelligent shows and are very popular with large audiences.

I like comedies also. However for some reason, even though the most popular shows display intelligence, comedy writers appear to be the most unoriginal and boorish people in existance. Who are they targetting? Is there no such thing as an intelligent sit-com these days. I mean The Cosby Show was hilarious and intelligent, even Seinfield and Friends did not insult our intelligence, but I find the majority of the drivel passing as comedy these days to be redundant and ignorant.

Willow thinks she wants to laugh but can't find many opportunities.

Thought-bytes of South America and I hate Monsanto!!!

Happy Birthday Cruz Hernandez!!! At 128 the El Salvadorian woman is possibly the oldest living person, although Guiness claims it is Ecuadorian Maria Esther de Capovilla who is a mere 116. Let the battle of the post-centurians begin. I put my U.S. dollars on Cruz, because US dollars is the currency in El Salvador and Ecuador. Didn't know that.

Latin America is feeling its oil. Good ol' Evo Morales nationalized Bolivias oil and true to world wide form his pal Hugo Chavez mentioned they didn't like like that Peru had finalized a free-trade agreement with Washington. Neither do they want to share their resources with Washington. The want to isolationist the resources of South America and I wish them the best, I would like to see the same in our country!!!

I must admit I kind of like Evo Morales at least as portrayed by the BBC. Small time coca farmer makes good!!!

I am hoping that the more other countries of the world attempt to use natural resources as chokeholds on our economy the faster American ingenuity gets us on the renewable resource bandwagon.

Child labor has dropped by 10% in the last 4 years. That is good news.

Half of Monsantos experiments in France are destroyed by the irate French each year. Wow I never thought I would be happy with any French actions, but le bon travail

Fifty women in Moracco were ordained as Muslim priests (morchidat). Finally a voice of reason as the moderate Islamic movement makes strides in a notoriously extremist region. They still don't get to lead prayers though, just wander around preaching the word to other women, but hey still great.

Willows thoughts on these matters matters.

Thought-bytes of the Moment.

I do not believe globalization is best for the worldwide economy. Globalization is great for exploitation of "third world countries" until they eventually realize they are being exploited and decide to nationalize their resources to the frustration dependent overconsumptive cultures at the top of the socioeconomic pyramid who got used to cheap honey.

Immigration to the United States should not be allocated to groups of people who cross into our borders illegally. There are enough people in the world trying to enter the United States legally to fill the job vacuum the deportation of the illegals would create. Twelve million bad little illegal immigrants out, twelve million good little legal immigrants who waited to do it right in. :)

Energy is a stranglehold tightening around the neck of the overconsumptive American population. The solution: a graduated tax on gasoline that increases with consumption. That and . . I don't know. . viable and subsidised (how many billion to Iraq was it again, where does the money go?) alternative energy resources.

Do not make laws, make tax cuts in the direction you want it to go. Instead of saying "This is illegal" say hmm, okay you can do it, but if you don't it will be much cheaper for you come tax time.

According to the World Conservation Union over 16,000 are endangered including polar bears and hippoes.

Ohh, and I still think Monsanto is evil. . . Yay Poland for having the sense to ban genetically modified seeds. No more polack jokes now!!!

Willow thinks. Well every now and then.
