Tigers Have Spoken

Neko Case

Frankly everytime I hear the song Tigers Have Spoken by Neko Case tears start trickling down my cheeks. It is such a hauntingly sad song. It is the kind of song I can't listen to very often because it puts me in such a depressed mood, almost summing up the trapped futility of about everything on this planet Earth. See, that is why I can' t listen to this song, it strips me completely of my optimism. I recommend listening to it, because frankly there aren't that many songs out there that make me cry, probably only this one, and maybe School Night by Ani Di Franco, because that one has lyrics about a house burning down and the mother can only save one child and she has to pick. Yeah I can't read the lyrics to Tigers Have Spoken, too sad. And makes one think. . . or at least makes normal caring people think.

I read the lyrics and I told Willow why I thought the tiger was shot but she wouldn't listen.
What I thought? The tiger was shot by animal rights to put it out of its misery. They couldn't release it into the wild because it had lived on human handouts and didn't know how to hunt properly.
