Marmot Pass
Hiked to Marmot Pass today. 11 miles round trip. I, of course, forgot my camera, so I have stolen this picture off the internet. It is from Ned Lowry from 1975, coincidentally the year I was born. Today looked like this but 30 years later and less snow. Also there were no clouds. I did my usual plant stealing covert operations on the way down, including a chocolate lily that made me very happy. I need GPS!!! Oh, and I hurt everywhere and am sporting a lovely red shade on many parts of my body. My husband rolled around in the snow and then asked our four year old if he was going to also. Boy rolled his eyes at Dad and said, "No that's crazy."
Disgruntled note: Did not see one damn marmot. We saw a chipmunk and told the boy it was a marmot so he at least was satisfied.

That really is nice! Sorry about the lack of marmots though. Do you think the lack of snow is a seasonal thing or something global-warming related?
I think we are in a dry year, I would expect global warming to actually bring more rain here.
